A vendor sent us invoices dating back to 2012 and 2013. Is there a statute of limitations in Minnesota that addresses how far back we're obligated to pay old invoices?

We’ve done a search and found in one case that in Minnesota, the statute of limitations on invoicing is six years on both written and oral contracts—but we have not been able to confirm that. The time period varies by state and also often by contract type. Generally it is greater than three years, and can be 10 or even 15 years. It is likely that you are still obligated to pay invoices from 2012 and 2013. We recommend you contact the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office at business.services@state.mn.us or (877) 551-6767 to confirm Minnesota’s statute of limitations on invoicing.
