We currently administer a P-card program for over 1,200 cards. What is the average number of administrators expected for a program of that size?

In RPMG’s biennial P-card benchmark report, Drs. Palmer and Gupta looked at staffing patterns according to the number of P-cards in a program, and found the following.

70% of organizations with 500 – 1,499 cards in their programs had “one or more full-time P-card administrators” and a median one support FTE.

At 1,500 cards, the percentage of organizations with one or more full time P-card administrators goes to 92%, and the median number of FTE support personnel jumps to 2.65.
